Fostering Good Health

Health it is often said is wealth, and that it is only healthy people who are able to work.

Indeed, it is only a healthy body that is able to be productive.

It, therefore, reminds us all of the need to make public health a priority, and ensure that such commitments are not just left at the policy level, but seen to be implemented and working well for all to benefit from.

Our concern is that so long as there is the lack of access to quality public health and an effective health system in any country or community, the poor people will continue to suffer.

It is very good to build hospitals and health centres, but making sure they these facilities deliver to the satisfaction of the populace is another thing.

Providing enough doctors and nursing staff, reliable electricity supply at health posts, as well as medical supplies at all times is what Gambians would love to have from the public health authorities.
